Brooklyn Honors Spike
" Brooklyn Honors Spike Lee"
is a multifaceted tribute that invites New York's five boroughs to celebrate the scope of Spike Lee's work and its impact on popular culture. Friday, June 26 at 7 pm BHS hosts David Lee's photography exhibition opening and poetry inspired by Spike Lee's work.

PLEASE NOTE CHANGES IN BUILDING HOURS:
BHS will be closed on Monday, June 22 through Friday, June 26. The building will be open on the weekend of Saturday June 27-28, and then closed again on Monday, June 29 through Saturday, July 4. BHS will resume its regular hours, beginning Sunday, July 5.
These measures are being taken to cut costs, in order to remain fiscally sound in the coming fiscal year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For further information on how BHS is managing the organization's financial challenges during the current economic downturn, please read the letter from the President.

Rev. John Howard Melish was pastor at the Protestant Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity in Brooklyn from 1904-1949. His son, Rev. William Howard Melish, was associate rector at the same church from 1938-1957. Learn about their struggle to remain attached to the Church of the Holy Trinity.
