The Center for Brooklyn History is home to the most expansive collection of materials relating to Brooklyn’s history in the world. Search through thousands of photographs, maps, objects, oral history collections, and more.
Search the Collections
The Center for Brooklyn History is ADA accessible.
Entrance: The accessible entrance is adjacent to the main entrance at 128 Pierrepont Street.
Galleries: All levels of the museum are accessible by elevator.
Restrooms: Accessible restrooms are located on the lower level. Brooklyn Historical Society offers a visual description of the building for people who are blind or partially sighted through New York Beyond Sight.
Service animals are welcome at 128 Pierrepont Street.
Visitors are welcome to take photographs of the building, exhibitions, and objects except where otherwise noted. Use of flash, monopods, tripods, and selfie sticks is not permitted.
Eating and Drinking
Eating and drinking is not allowed in any of the galleries. Thank you for your cooperation.
Thank you for smoking outside at a reasonable distance from the building.
While we encourage the use of mobile devices to access information about the collections, please do not place or receive phone calls in the galleries or library.
Luggage and Oversized Bags
At our main site on Pierrepont Street, please store luggage and oversize bags in the free lockers on the first floor.

Please feel free to be creative and take notes. We ask that you use pencils only. Should you need one, please ask at the front desk.
